The Entrepreneur
Software guru Robert Newman, who owns and helps manage the venture capital company Greenwood Gulch Ventures, presents "Discipline Now, Serendipity Later" at the College of Engineering's 11th annual M. Lewis Temares Entrepreneurship Forum last Thursday. The forum, named after M. Lewis Temares, CIO/vice president of Information Technology and former dean of the College of Engineering, hosts distinguished panelists from diverse areas of engineering who share their knowledge, ideas, and advice with students who hope to become entrepreneurs themselves. Temares, Provost Thomas LeBlanc and current College of Engineering Dean James M. Tien were among the distinguished guests who attended the forum. Newman is cofounder and former director of a software company, J.D. Edwards, which is now Oracle, and he holds the South Florida franchise rights for GolfTEC, a golf swing analysis and instruction shop. His wife, Judi Prokop Newman, is a UM trustee.
