1. What are the dates for InterSession/Spring Break?
InterSession:  January 4-15, 2010
Spring Break: March 13-21, 2010

 2. How much is the tuition?
InterSession and Spring Break 2010 on campus and domestic travel courses are offered at $1,480 per credit hour *.

The cost is separate from and in addition to spring semester tuition charges.

*Tuition price are subject to change. (Please verify charges for the Faculty Led International Travel InterSession and Spring Break 2010 through the IEEP office).
 
3. Does Tuition Remission cover InterSession/Spring Break?
For full time UM employees with tuition remission benefits, tuition remission covers one three credit InterSession or Spring Break course, in addition to the maximum seven credits for the spring semester. To verify if you qualify or for complete tuition remission information contact Sheri Virok 8-2728.

 4. When is payment due?

• InterSession 2010 tuition charges are due before the first day of InterSession, January 4, 2010.
• Spring Break 2010 courses follow the same pay schedule as charges for the Spring 2010 semester; payment is due by January 19, 2010.

Payment or arrangements to pay can be made on MyUM or at the Office of Student Account Services, 158 Ashe Building, 305-284-6430. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
 

5. Will my financial aid/scholarships pay for the course?
Some financial aid and scholarships do apply. You must verify this with your specific funding source.

 6. When can I register?
Registration begins November 8, 2009, along with spring 2010 registration.

 7. Is there a registration deadline?
Although we allow registration up to the first day of class, it is on space available so early registration is encouraged.

8. If I am currently enrolled at UM do I need to fill out an application?
No, all you need to do is request an InterSession/Spring Break course with your advisor at the same time you register for your spring classes.

 9. I am not currently enrolled at UM, can I take an InterSession/Spring Break class?
If you are more than two years out of high school and meet all the requirements stated in the nondegree-seeking application, you can apply as a nondegree seeking student, and register for the course.  Please visit www.miami.edu/asap for complete policies and application.

 10. What if I decide to drop the course?
Not attending class does not drop you from the course. Students who decide to drop a InterSession/Spring Break course they are registered for must complete a Change of Course form signed by their advisor and may only submit it for processing at the Division of Continuing and International Education  in Allen Hall. If the correct procedure is not used, refund due may not be applied. For a refund, courses must be dropped before the first day of class.  11. When do I get my grade for the InterSession/Spring Break course?
Grades for InterSession and Spring Break courses will be distributed with the spring semester grades in May.
