WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW before Orientation begins:

Move-in dates and times:

First-year students with last names A-F, engineering and music students

Date: Wednesday, August 20

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

First year students with last names G-O, engineering and music students

Date: Wednesday, August 20

Time: 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

First year students with last names P-Z

Date: Thursday, August 21

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Orientation BEGINS on Thursday, August 21 at 5:30 p.m. with the "Cane Kick-off" and concludes on Wednesday, August 27 (first day of classes). Make sure you check-in for Orientation!

Who should check-in: Orientation check-in applies to ALL NEW AND TRANSFER STUDENTS (including international students)

Where do I report for check-in: Whitten University Center International Lounge (2nd floor of University Center)

Date: Wednesday, August 20

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Date: Thursday, August 21 (this check-in date is especially encouraged for transfer and commuter students)

Time: 9:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Date: Friday, August 22 (late check-in)

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Parent Orientation will be held on Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22 for parents interested in learning about their son/daughter's first year at UM

Review a new parking policy that affects first-year freshmen. Residential freshmen are not allowed to bring/park cars on campus. Students commuting to campus are not affected by this new policy.
