On-Campus Student Employment Programs

Miami Commitment Program

Unique to the University of Miami is the Miami Commitment program, an award-winning, experiential learning program.

Applications are made available to incoming freshmen upon acceptance to the University of Miami. The program matches students with employers who can maximize their learning experiences on the job and mentor them over the course of their four years at UM. Students interested in joining the program must apply prior to entering the University of Miami by completing the Miami Commitment Application by May 30. Students will be notified, if accepted to the program, prior to the start of the fall semester.

About 15% to 20% of freshmen are admitted to the program each year. Jobs provided through the Miami Commitment program are funded either through the Federal Work Study program, the hiring department or the Miami Commitment program, depending on the job assignment the student has been referred to. Only-pre-approved positions qualify for funding through the Miami Commitment program.

See the Miami Commitment Website for further information.
