This service assists students in identifying which academic fields of study or careers might suit them best.
-
This service also helps students in:
-
Learning about themselves, their interests, attitudes, values, and abilities
-
Becoming aware of their intellectual ability and specific skills
-
Matching their interests, values, abilities and skills to various occupations or careers
-
A battery of interest, abilities, and personality tests tailored to the individual’s needs are administered based upon an interview with a counselor . Referrals for further information on specific fields may then be made to the Toppel Career Center www.miami.edu/toppel.

Career counseling is most appropriate for students whose majors are undeclared or declared but experiencing academic difficulty, uncertainty, or disinterest in their major fields.
