Research Compliance Assessment (ORCA)

TheOffice of Research Compliance Assessment resides within the Office of Research and reports to the Vice Provost for Research, Richard J. Bookman, Ph.D.

The auditing component of the Compliance Program was started in 2000 with one auditor. We now have a staff of 4 full-time Compliance Officers, directed by Lynn E. Smith, JD. The ORCA staff represents a unique combination of individuals with varied and extensive research experience. Compliance audits are comprehensive, and based on federal and state regulations and guidelines, University policies and procedures, approved protocols and other guidance documents.
