Vending Services

 

Vending Installation/Service

 

Purpose - Vending Services provides students, faculty and staff the ability to purchase snacks, sandwiches, drinks and other items at convenient locations on campus.

 

Policy - The University, by contract, allows authorized vendors to install vending machines providing food, beverages and other items at convenient sites in residential Colleges, Schools, classroom areas and administrative buildings. The food and beverage machines are located in groups to provide customers a better selection of products and ease of stocking and service. Machines will not be installed if they are a nuisance or are in appropriate to the location or decor.

 

Procedures - Departments interested in obtaining a vending machine, or machine, should proceed in the following manner:

  1. Get the installation approved by the appropriate person responsible for the area where the machine(s) are to be installed, i.e. the Department Head, Dean, Chairperson.

  2. Determine if the location contains the utilities required for the installation, i.e. electrical, water for coffee, etc.

  3. Contact the Department of Auxiliary Services and indicate:

    1. - the desired location of the machine(s). Note: vending machines cannot be installed in stairwells or in hallways.

    2. - the types of products desired in the machine(s).

 

The Department of Auxiliary Services of will contact the authorized vendor(s) and ask that the machine(s) be installed. The vendor(s) will monitor the sales from the machine(s) and if the machine(s) do not provide adequate sales, the machine(s) will be removed at the discretion of the vendor(s).

 

Please note that installation of new equipment may be subject to approval by the University's Buildings and Grounds Committee.

All routine service problems should be directed to the applicable vendor. Complicated or repeated problems should be referred to the Department of Auxiliary Services. Abuse or misuse of vending machines should be reported immediately to Public Safety at (305) 284-6666.

 

 

 

Vending Machine Refunds

 

Purpose - To refund moneys to customers who did not receive correct merchandise or services.

Policy - Vendor(s) operating vending machine(s) will refund money to persons who do not receive merchandise.

 

 

Procedures - Request all vending machine refunds by visiting the Cashier's Office at the Ashe Building.
