Welcome to the Butler Center for Volunteer Service & Leadership Development! The Center offers resources on volunteerism, service-learning
and opportunities for students and student organizations to develop
leadership skills and get involved in service in the Miami-Dade area.
Visit the Butler Center and a Placement Assistant will help you find the community
service or service-learning project that matches your interests.
We have numerous community service opportunities concerning many
social issues, which are in great need of both individual and group
volunteers…so
take advantage of the opportunity to get involved.
For those of you interested in internships/jobs in the field of
service, we also have information about service-related opportunities
beyond Miami.
Let us know how we can help you in finding ways to serve your community.
We are located in the Whitten University Center, Room 240, or call us at 305-284-GIVE.
Be a part of the Service and Leadership Center's tradition of wearing a "lead and serve" t-shirts the 1st Wednesday of the month! Lead and Serve t-shirt are given to student leaders involved in the SLC and given out at a variety of events throughout the year including the RA Expo, Canefest, UMX class presentations, and more! We ask that students wear their t-shirts the first Wednesday of the month, every month. If you haven?t had a chance to get one of your very own, visit our table in the UC breezeway from 11 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month! Staring in December 2007, we?ll have a drawing for great prizes for students who stop by our table in the breezeway or the office on Lead and Serve Day.
Show your love for leading and serving by wearing your shirts on December 5, January 16, February 6, March 5, April 2, and May 7!
