Form DS-2019 travel validation for J-1 scholars and/or J-2 dependents
• If you are participating in the University of Miami’s J-1 program, your International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) advisor will have signed your Form DS-2019 (and the Forms DS-2019 of your J-2 dependents, if you have any) during your scholar orientation at ISSS. The travel signature on the lower right of the Form DS-2019 is valid for a maximum of 12 months from the date of the signature or until the form expires, whichever comes first. • If you are not participating in the University of Miami’s J-1 program but are sponsored by another J-1 program sponsor, then you need to contact your program sponsor to request that your Form DS-2019 (and the Forms DS-2019 of your J-2 dependents, if you have any) be validated for travel. • Please contact Claudia Zitzmann, Associate Director, ISSS, at czitzmann@miami.edu or at (305) 284-2928 if you require another travel signature or if you have any questions regarding Form DS-2019 travel validation for J-1 scholars and/or J-2 dependents.
