FAST FACTS

School of Education

• Undergraduate enrollment Fall 2007: 356 students

• Every student pursuing a teaching and learning major must also choose a second major in the College of Arts & Sciences. This dual requirement allows UM graduates to pursue outside areas of interest and provides a competitive edge.

• The School of Education also offers majors in exercise physiology, sport administration and athletic training. Our location affords excellent clinical experience via professional sports teams, teaching hospitals and a progressive business environment.

• The faculty brought the School of Education more than $7.76 million in research and program development awards in 2004-2005 alone.

• The American Psychological Association (APA) and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) recently renewed the school’s national accreditation, and the State of Florida once again approved its teacher education programs.
