Costs & Financial Aid

Applying for financial aid

When you apply for admission to the University of Miami, you’ll automatically be considered for academic merit scholarships, which range from 25% to 100% tuition. There’s no separate application.

To be considered for other forms of financial aid, you’ll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is available online. Once you’ve done this and sent your report to UM (school code 001536) we’ll calculate your financial need (based on a federal formula) and estimate your financial aid award. This aid “package” may consist of scholarships, grants and/or loans as well as any money you’re eligible to receive by working on campus. If you are a resident of Florida, you will also see estimates of any state aid you may qualify for while attending UM.
