Who is eligible for financial assistance?

All of the following criteria must be met to receive need-based financial aid funds. An undergraduate student must:

• be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
• have a high school diploma, GED certificate or have passed an "ability to benefit" test
• be accepted and enroll in an eligible program as a regular student seeking a degree or certificate
• register with the Selective Service system if you are a male between the ages of 18 and 24
• make satisfactory progress toward a degree or completion of a recognized certificate program
• not owe repayment of a Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) or a state grant at any institution
• not be in default or delinquent on any Perkins Loan, Stafford/SLS or PLUS Loan at any institution
• not have borrowed in excess of the limits for the Perkins or Stafford/SLS programs
• not have been convicted as an adult of possessing or selling illegal drugs

If you have earned a bachelor’s degree and are pursuing a second, you are only eligible to receive funds from the following Federal programs: Stafford Loans, Perkins Loan, Work-Study, and/or a PLUS Loan, provided you have not reached the aggregate maximum limit as an undergraduate student in any of the loan programs.
