AICPA Minority Scholarships and Fellowships

Criteria: 

Undergraduate students must be: 

* A declared accounting major with an overall accounting grade point average of at 3.0.

* A minority student who has satisfactorily completed at least 30 semester hours of college work, including at least six semester hours in accounting.

* Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student, unless completing the final semester of study, at a four-year school. Students who will be attending a four-year school for the first time must include an acceptance letter from the school.

Graduate students must be:

* A minority student who is enrolled in the final year of a five-year accounting program or an undergraduate accounting major who is presently accepted or enrolled in a master-level accounting; business administration, finance or taxation program, or who had any undergraduate major and is presently accepted in a master-level accounting program.

* Enrolled as a full-time graduate student (nine semester hours or equivalent), unless completing final semester of study

Name: AICPA Scholarships for Minority Accounting Students

Criteria: Undergraduate: Applicant must be a declared accounting major with an overall and accounting grade point average of at least 3.0. Applicant must also be a minority student who has satisfactorily completed at least 30 semester hours, or 45 quarter hours, or equivalent college work, including at least six semester hours (or equivalent) in accounting. Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student (12 semester hours or equivalent), unless completing the final semester of study, at a four-year or upper division institution. Students who will be transferring to a four-year school for the first time must include an acceptance letter from the school. 

Graduate: Applicant must be a minority graduate student who was an undergraduate accounting major and is presently accepted in a masters-level accounting, business administration, finance, or taxation program, OR who had any undergraduate major and is presently accepted in a masters-level accounting program. Collegiate Scholarship Program

Criteria: Full-time undergraduate students enrolled at a four-year college or university majoring in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business Administration. Funding permitting, students pursuing degrees in other high-impact majors (i.e. Education) may also be considered. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Combined Jewish Philanthropies Scholarship

Criteria: Permanent address must be in the greater Boston CJP service area. Undergraduate and graduate students attending two- or four-year accredited institutions are eligible to apply. Graduate students enrolled in Jewish communal, education, and human service programs are eligible to apply. INROADS Internship

Criteria: Internships are available to students pursuing a degree at an accredited four-year college or university. Jewish Culture International Community Service Scholarships

Criteria: Scholarships are awarded annually for professional training for careers in Jewish education, Jewish social service, the rabbinate, shehita, and milah. The recipients must commit themselves after their training to serve two to three years in a Jewishly deprived Diaspora community outside the United States, Canada, and Israel where such professional personnel are urgently needed. Recipient should also be knowledgeable in the language and culture of that country or be prepared to learn it. Scholarships are open to any individual, regardless of country of origin, who is presently receiving or plans to undertake training in his/her chosen field in a recognized yeshiva, teacher training seminary, school of social work, university, or other educational institution.

Microsoft National Minority Technical Scholarship

Criteria: Must be a member of one of the following Minority groups: African American, Hispanic, or Native American. The student must be enrolled full-time and be making satisfactory progress towards a degree in one of the following fields: computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, such as math or physics, with a demonstrated interest in computer science. The student must be enrolled in his or her sophomore or junior year (or his or her fourth year, if enrolled in a five-year program). Because the scholarship is merit-based, the student must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 4.0, or a 4.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 5.0. Five scholarships will be offered for this program. Each of the five students will receive $1,000 to be applied to their tuition for the 1999-2000 academic year. Students from across the United States will be selected in recognition of their passion for software and the ability to make a difference in the software industry. Selected students will be considered for a paid summer internship that offers an opportunity to work on the development of Microsoft products.

NSF Minority Graduate Fellowship

Criteria: This program offers three-year graduate fellowships and minority graduate fellowships in science, mathematics, and engineering. Applicants should be college seniors, first-year graduate students, and others who have completed a limited amount of graduate study in science, mathematics, or engineering. U.S. citizenship or permanent residence is required. The appointment is for maximum tenure periods of three years usable over a five-year period. Rosewood Family Scholarship

Criteria: An applicant must be a minority individual belonging to one of the following race/ethnic categories: Black, not of Hispanic origin; Hispanic; Asian or Pacific Islander; American Indian or Alaskan Native. An applicant must meet the State of Florida's general eligibility requirements for the receipt of state aid, not owe repayment of a grant under any state or federal grant or scholarship program, not be in default of any federal Title IV or state loan program unless satisfactory arrangements to repay have been made, and not have previously received a bachelor's degree. An applicant must also enroll in a degree or certificate program at a State University, community college, or public post secondary vocational-technical school in Florida. Science and Engineering Opportunities Program for Minorities and Women

Criteria: This program is for matriculating college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Participants are mentored by members of the scientific, professional, and technical staff in an educational training program developed to give research experience in various areas of chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, biology, nuclear medicine, applied mathematics, high and low energy particle accelerators, and science writing. The summer appointment lasts for 10 weeks.
