The University of Miami's main campus is located on 260 acres in the city of Coral Gables, a suburb just south of Miami. Also known as The City Beautiful, Coral Gables boasts a vibrant business and cultural community set in a tropical, Mediterranean environment. The University has grown from its main location to also include the Medical campus located in downtown Miami; the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science on Virginia Key in Biscayne Bay; the South and Richmond campuses in southwest Miami-Dade county; the John J. Koubek Center in Little Havana; and the James L. Knight Center in downtown Miami.

Visiting Coral Gables

Founded in 1925 by the founders of Coral Gables who felt an institution of higher learning was needed for the development of their young and growing community, the University of Miami has grown to become one of the largest private research universities in the southeastern United States.

Participate in campus culture

The University of Miami has become a mecca of cultural and social activities - from the  Lowe Art MuseumCasa Bacardi, and the  Cosford Cinema to the Gusman Concert Hall at the  Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music and Jerry Herman Ring Theatre. UM has theatres, museums, galleries, an  arboretum, and a performance and basketball arena that are among the best in South Florida.
