Dr. Carol Anne I. Phekoo
Assistant Professor of Educational and Psychological Studies
and Coordinator of the Enrollment Management Program,
University of Miami

Enrollment management is the natural consequence, if not the embodiment, of higher education's increasing preoccupation with student fit and success. Never have missions, strategies, and even the integrity of colleges and universities appeared so closely tied to student interest, expectations, development, and success as under the discerning and caring eye of the enrollment manager.

Phekoo, who holds a Ph.D. in higher education, teaches higher education courses and does research on college student development, outcomes of college, student satisfaction with college, and the impact of college on students' educational, social, occupational, and moral values. She also holds a master's degree in communication studies and has made presentations at the International Communication Association Conference and the Intercultural and International Communication Conference and been published in the Gazette, an intercultural communication magazine. Phekoo received the Award for Academic Merit and was named the 1999 Outstanding Doctoral Student at the University of Miami. Acutely aware of the need for good enrollment managers in higher education, she received recognition for a research project titled "What Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Dispositions Do Higher Education Administrators Need: A Content Analysis." She also is a member of the American Association for Higher Education.
