Dr. Chester A. Shreisheim
Professor of Management
University of Miami

Chester A. Schriesheim (Ph.D., The Ohio State University, 1978) is the University of Miami Distinguished Professor of Management and the Rosa R. and Carlos M. de la Cruz Leadership Scholar. Previously, he was a tenured professor at the University of Florida and a tenured associate professor at the University of Southern California. Dr. Schriesheim's teaching and research interests are primarily in leadership, power and influence, and applied research methods. He has received numerous professional recognitions for outstanding teaching, service, and research. He is the author or co-author of almost 200 books, articles, and scholarly papers, with six dozen being published in top-tier scholarly outlets such as the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Applied Psychology, Psychological Bulletin, and Administrative Science Quarterly.

Dr. Schriesheim is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Southern Management Association, and he has held numerous offices in various professional associations, including having been president of the Southern Management Association and chair of the Research Methods Division of the Academy of Management. Professor Schriesheim has done extensive training and consulting for government and industry, including Burger King, Chrysler Corp., Eagle Brands, Mt. Sinai Medical Center, and United Distillers. He has also served as an advisor to the Leadership Analysis Directorate of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency and held various grants with funding agencies such as the Office of Naval Research.
