UM is one of the most diverse institutions in the country.
The student body consists of 21% Hispanic, 10% African/Black, 7% Asian and Native American students and over 1300 International students from 111 different countries.
The Department of Multicultural Student Affairs provides support and guidance to UM's diverse student community. African, Hispanic, Asian and Native American students are asked to participate in the annual Horizons program for new students of color.
