Center for Hemispheric Policy

Election '08: The Global Impact
September 19, 2008

With the nation set to elect a new president in the coming weeks, analysts and political experts across the country continue to speculate about how the next commander in chief will address today’s global challenges. On September 19, two noted national experts presented their views on that topic, when the University of Miami’s Center for Hemispheric Policy cosponsored "Election '08: The Global Impact," a one-day forum at the Biltmore hotel.

Above: During the forum, retired Four-Star General Barry McCaffrey, center, former commander of the U.S. Southern Command, expresses his opinion, while former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, left, and moderator Antonio Mora, a news anchor at Miami’s WFOR-TV, listen in. Cosponsors of the event were the Center for U.S. Global Engagement and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
