Below are the costs for one level of classes taken during the 2009-2010 academic year. Please note that tuition and fees are due upon registration.

*Additional funds for housing, meals, books and personal expenses average $7,200.00 for each 14-week session and $3,750 for each 6-week session.

UM Fees

• The University Fee entitles undergraduate, graduate, and day law students access to services and programs provided by the Guidance Center (counseling, workshops, etc.), the Health Center (basic health services, examinations, etc.), and the University Center (access to all facilities, pool admission, programs, services, etc.).

• The Activity Fee entitles students to receive an identification card that is required for many activities, such as student elections, use of certain University facilities, free admission to many University sponsored events, and the Ibis yearbook. The Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee (SAFAC), an all-student committee, recommends allocations from this fee to the University administration. The funds generated by this fee, which pools diversified interests of a multi-faceted student body, are used to support the availability of a wide range of programs, services, facilities, and organizations including the University Center, Student Activities, Campus Sports, major events, (e.g. Homecoming and Marni Gras), various forms of entertainment, major concerts, student publications, the student radio station, and Student Government.

The Athletic Fee entitles student to attend home games for football, baseball and basketball and other intercollegiate contests. Free transportation is included for most local events held off campus.

Wellness Center Fee

The Wellness Center Fee entitles students to use the 114,000 sq. ft. center that includes a 10,000 sq. ft. fitness room, six racquetball courts, two squash courts, indoor lap pool, two gymnasiums for basketball, volleyball, badminton, floor hockey and soccer, jogging track, aerobics and martial arts room, health juice bar lounge, and locker and shower rooms. The Center also has a Wellness Suite consisting of a studio cycling room, a fitness lab, instructional kitchen, classrooms and a conference room. Additionally, the Center is adjacent to an outdoor courtyard and four outdoor basketball/volleyball courts.

The fee also includes aerobic classes, sport tournaments and informal recreation programs. The facility is generally open from 6:30 a.m. - midnight, Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m.-11:00 p.m. Friday, and 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Summer and holiday hours may vary.

Health Insurance

All students are required to purchase health insurance that meets University standards and are automatically charged this fee. Students with their own personal insurance may complete an insurance waiver form to request removal of this fee from your account. The required form is available in the IEP office from the Student Health Center webpage. It should be completed during the first week of classes and returned to the IEP office. Brochures explaining insurance benefits are available for all students.

IEP Contingency Fee

The Contingency Fee entitles all IEP students to attend IEP activities. This may include an Ice Breaker luncheon for all new and returning students, movies, sports games and holiday parties. Each semester, a minimum of two trips are offered to popular Florida destinations. Each semester is then culminated in an End-of-the-Semester Party at a local restaurant or perhaps on board a boat!
