Executive Seminar: Prevention, Deterrence, and Response to Campus Emergencies is designed to address campus emergencies associated with a spontaneous event requiring the attention of college and campus officials, emergency responders, elected officials, and other community stakeholders. The course consist of problem-based, small, integrated group activities which require a coordinated, integrated approach in order to solve.
The audience for this class is Campus leaders, faculty governance, student governance, campus health/medical and mental health services, campus public affairs, jurisdictional law enforcement and public safety agencies, and jurisdictional public information officers at community colleges, colleges, and universities.

Investigations 101 August 17-19, 2009
The Investigations 101 class previously hosted by University of Miami Police in January is now available as a 3-day seminar; August 17-19, 2009. The course is designed for law enforcement personnel who wish to expand their knowledge about basic investigations and obtain an overview of Search & Seizure laws. Each participant will receive a training manual, Search & Seizure Handbook (3rd Ed)., Certificate and additional materials on CD/DVD. COMPSTAT Survival TBA 2009
University of Miami Police and the City of Miami Police Department are proud to present COMPSTAT Survival. This two-day course will help law enforcement professionals develop proven strategies to reduce crime and eliminate waste of resources. This course is designed for law enforcement departments interested in implementing the COMPSTAT philosophy as part of their current crime reduction techniques or to strengthen staff assessment and preparation in developing effective proactive strategies. Participants will learn how to better evaluate departmental resources and apply COMPSTAT procedures in their respective environments.
Advanced Intelligence Workshop Focusing on Muslim Culture Fall 2009
Provided with the assistance of SLATT, this is a two-day workshop that provides instruction concentrated related to the investigation and prosecution of terrorists and criminal extremists. This course will provide a comprehensive overview of Muslim culture, religion, name analysis and interviewing techniques. Other issues discussed will be recognizing terrorist indicators and warning signs, as well as unique aspects of “terrorist” criminals as opposed to the offenders that police normally encounter.
