Preparations for Arrival in Miami
1) Arrival at UM
-
If you will be living on campus, you should receive your housing assignment by email about a week before you are expected to arrive on campus. If this does not happen, email housing@miami.edu and inquire about your assignment.
-
If you know your housing assignment when you arrive in Miami, you can take a taxi directly to your residence hall until 10:00pm. After 10:00pm, it will not be possible to check into your room. If you plan to arrive after 10:00pm, you should make arrangements to stay in a hotel for the night and then check into housing the following morning.
-
If you do not know your housing assignment and you will be arriving before 10:00pm, you can call 305-284-4282 (before 5:00 pm) to find out your assignment and then take a taxi directly there. If you plan to arrive after 10:00pm, you should make plans to stay in a hotel for the night and then check into housing the following morning.
2) Housing opens for international students usually one day before the International Student Orientation.
- For Fall 2009, exchange students may move onto campus on Tuesday, August 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
