Semester and Year Programs
Situated in northeastern Mexico in the shadows of the Eastern Sierra Maestra mountain range, the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) – often referred to simply as the Tecnológico de Monterrey – is  based originally on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology educational model and is more than a technology university. The institution has consistently received national and international acclaim since its founding in 1943.  Of the university’s eight campuses, the one in Monterrey is the largest and most recognized of the Tecnológico de Monterrey system. Students will find a variety of programs and courses available in English and Spanish. Courses range from Spanish language and literature to standard academic university courses. Students may also participate in internships at local Mexican companies and earn academic credit. With approximately 19,000 students, Monterrey is considered a mid-size campus in Mexico. It boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a competitive academic environment. Because of its active commercial environment, Monterrey is considered "the business capital of Mexico." Even with a population of 3.7 million, Monterrey is still one of the safest places in Mexico.
