History of British Cinema with Internships in London

CMP 507 (Section 97): 3 credits, graduate or undergraduate
Program Dates: May 14 - Jun 20, 2008

This program consists of two parts. The first 2 and a half weeks, the students will meet at the University of Miami for daily 3 and a half hour sessions consisting of a 90 minute lecture and a film screening followed by group discussion.

For the second portion of the course, which will cover 22 days, students will do an internship in London. The first 3 days will be used for familiarization tours of London. Internships will take place at the BBC, ITV Television, film production houses and legitimate theaters for students who are interested in both theatre and film.

Cost: $4,050 for 3 credits undergraduate tuition and a travel package (other transportation, apartments, group dinner, tour sites fees) of $3,175 (estimated).

Credit: CMP 507 count towards their 36 credit required film major. For all non-majors, the course counts as an Arts and Sciences elective course above the 300-level.

Deadlines: Applications are accepted on a space available basis.  Early application is encouraged. 

Eligibility: Any student from the University of Miami or any institution of higher learning, who has completed at least the freshman year. Graduate students are also eligible.
