Through readings and writing assignments, the course will develop and enhance news gathering and journalistic writing skills, focusing on people, places, events, and culture in various locations in China. The international and intercultural setting will be based in Shanghai, and will include travel to Beijing, Hong Kong, the old world heritage city of Lijang, and Bangkok, Thailand.
Academic Offering (3 or 6 credits, undergraduate or graduate):
CNJ 595 (Sections 97,99). Students should have completed CNJ 216 or the equivalent, or have permission of instructor.
Lodging and Accommodations:
Students stay in university housing and hotels.
Costs: $4,272 for 3 credits undergraduate tuition and $8,544 for 6 credits undergraduate tuition and a program fee of $4,000 (estimated) that covers lodging, local transportation and field trips. Students should also budget for international airfare and personal expenses (food, calling cards,etc.). Early deposit required.
