UM SUMMER SESSION 2008

  • VIETNAM/CHINA

This special ACC-International Academic Collaborative program is sponsored by North Carolina State University and the University of Miami. This summer program will combine an initial week in Miami, FL with 3 weeks in China and 2 weeks in Vietnam. The program provides an excellent balance of coursework, hands-on fieldwork, and cultural immersion. Classes are taught in English by Dr. Damian Shea from North Carolina State University and Dr. Daniel Suman from the University of Miami. Course offerings may be equivalent to general education degree requirements for both natural sciences and humanities/social sciences. Students will interact with Chinese and Vietnamese faculty and participate in special cultural activities and excursions.  The program consists of two 3-credit courses that integrate the natural and social sciences needed to understand the Science and Management of Water Resources. Courses are taught in English, therefore there is no Chinese or Vietnamese language requirement.
