Unravel the history of Earth and life while touring one of the world’s most dramatic coastlines. Tie in economic and environmental aspects of Earth’s resources, learn about various geological processes that shaped the growth of Earth’s oceanic and continental crust, examine coastal beaches and marshes, and discuss emerging environmental concerns. This course begins and ends at Deer Lake, Newfoundland.
Academic Offering (4 or 6 credits): GSC 580, Section 98 and GSC 581, Section 98. The course assignments and requirements will be provided in the professor’s syllabus. Registration for this program is subject to the professor’s approval.
Lodging and Accommodations: Students will travel in a group with lodging arranged in motels. The program may be limited to a group of 12 participants.
Costs: $5400 for 4 credits undergraduate tuition or $8,100 for 6 credits undergraduate tuition (estimated). Students will also pay a travel package for meals, lodging, entrance fees and local transportation.
