The third largest city and one of the safest in Mexico, Monterrey has been recognized as one of the best cities to do business in Latin America. UM students may choose from a variety of academic subjects and internship opportunities at Monterrey Tech, one of the country’s most forward-thinking universities.

Academic Offerings: SAP 480.
Courses are offered in the areas of Spanish Language and Literature, Humanities and Business. Students may earn credit for an internship with a Mexican company or community service organization. Students may also partake in the Spanish for Medicine Program, which incorporates practices in the university hospital. Participants in the Mayan Route program will take a Mexican Culture course (taught in English) and a Spanish Language course (taught at the basic through intermediate levels). This is a traveling program, which gives students the opportunity to experience the full range of Mexican traditions, folklore and historical sites.Accommodations: Students on the regular summer program may choose to live with a Mexican host family or in Monterrey Tech dorms. Students on the traveling program will stay in hotels.
Application Procedures and Deadlines
Approximate Program Costs: $4200 (estimated) estimated includes 3 credits undergraduate tuition and IEEP fee. Students enrolling in the Mayan Route will pay a program fee of $1600 (estimated) to cover lodging, ground transportation and excursions. Participants in the regular summer program pay Monterrey Tech directly for room and board costs (approximately $650).
