Dental
The University offers two dental insurance plans. The plans cover basic through major dental services, including surgeries, but offer different options for provider choice and how the services are paid.
1. CIGNA DENTAL PLAN – DHMO
This plan offers low copays and works like an HMO. You need to elect a primary care dentist to receive benefits. You can elect or change your PCD at any time by visiting www.cigna.com/dental.
One preventive care exam every six months
Children under 16 eligible for two fluoride treatments per year
Orthodontic coverage for adults and children limited to a lifetime maximum of $2,400 per adult and $1,900 per child.
2. METLIFE DENTAL PLAN – PDP
The MetLife Preferred Dental Plan offers an extensive network of dentists and facilities to choose from. This plan also offers the option of going out-of-network for higher costs. Please keep in mind that MetLife does not issue member ID cards; your MetLife policy number is your social security number.
