Interdisciplinary Colloquia
The Interdisciplinary Colloquia, which serves as the core of the BGS program, offers selections during the Fall, Spring, Intersession, and Summer terms, in the evening and on Saturdays. The Colloquia courses are open only to students admitted to the BGS program, and registration will therefore show as "closed" in MyUM. To register for Colloquia, please print out the Course Request Form (PDF), fill in the required information, sign and fax to the BGS office at 305-284-2620.
Weekend College
In recognition of the varied responsibilities of our adult students, the Bachelor of General Studies program offers many of the required courses during the evening hours and on Saturdays (Weekend College). Weekend College courses are lower level, and may be applied to your General Education or Electives requirements.
The Bachelor of General Studies is designed for adults with varied responsibilities who wish to pursue a degree part-time. Students may carry up to 9 credit hours per semester. During Spring Semester one additional course in either Intersession or another Special Academic Program may be selected in addition to the 9-credit semester limit.
