Program Information The University of Miami School of Business Administration is acclaimed
for the global orientation and diversity of its faculty, student body,
and curriculum. Considered the most prestigious private school in
Florida, recent graduates have tagged the University of Miami as the Ivy
League School of the South. The Wall Street Journal's recruiter survey
agrees, ranking the MBA Program #1 in Florida and 10th in the region.
With approximately one-third of the students coming from outside of the
United States, a global network of friends and contacts is available. A
24 million dollar state-of-the-art facility was completed recently with
computer access at every seat, a paperless library with a full time
librarian to assist in accessing research data, a computer lab exclusive
to MBA students and high-tech classrooms with executive seating.
University of Miami MBA students can look forward to a challenging and
rewarding educational experience. The Ziff Graduate Career Services
Center is dedicated to creating employment opportunities to graduate
business students only as well as to compete for quality jobs.
The MBA Program is a 48 credit hour, lock-step program that can be
completed in less than two calendar years. Graduate assistantships that
award up to 75% tuition are available for full time students who qualify
entering in the fall semester. The School of Business Administration
also offers a 32 credit hour lock step MBA Program, which can be
completed in one year. This program is offered to students that have
earned an undergraduate degree in business within the last five years
from an accredited university.
Executives may earn an MBA degree by attending Saturday classes in one
of the following programs: Health Administration and Policy,
International Business, Management, Working Professionals, or Master of
Business Administration/Master of Science in Industrial Engineering
(MBA/MSIE).
The School of Business Administration is the only business school in the
United States to offer an executive graduate program taught entirely in
Spanish. The Master of Science in Professional Management, a 36 credit
hour program, meets for five two-week sessions over the course of one
year. Off-campus MBA programs are offered to residents of Tampa,
Delray, Orlando and the Bahamas. The School of Business Administration
offers the Master of Professional Accounting, M.S. in Computer
Information Systems, M.S. in Management Science with areas of
concentration in Quality Management - Operations Research/Applied
Statistics, M.S. in Taxation, M.A. in Economics, Master of Public
Administration, and a Ph.D. in Economics. The School's goal is to
provide students with a sound background in the functional areas of
business. To this end, a variety of teaching methods are used:
lecture, discussion, case method, and team projects. Classes are small
to encourage exchange between teacher and student and student peers. |
