The Property Accounting section of the Controller's Office is responsible for maitaining accounting systems that reflect the University's Property, Plant and Equipment assets. The following functions are part of this area
Maintaining the Equipment Property System by:

Accounting for all equipment purchased by the University

Adding new equipment purchased

Conducting physical inventory of equipment

Deleting equipment traded in, sold, scrapped - with proper documentation
Completing reports of moveable equipment as required by external sponsoring agencies, insurance companies, internal University departments.
Maintaining the Space system

Accounting for all University space with emphasis on research space.

Ensuring that renovations, construction are recorded in the space system

Conducting a physical space review every two to three years including functional use of the space
