Aileen M. Ugalde, vice president, general counsel, and secretary of the University, joined the University of Miami in 1994 as associate general counsel and became the executive director of the Presidential Search Committee in 2000. Ugalde was named assistant to the president in 2001 and vice president for government affairs in 2003. In 2006, she was appointed general counsel and secretary to the Board of Trustees. She received an A.B. in Latin American Studies and International Relations from Harvard University in 1988 and a J.D. in 1991 from the University of Miami. Ugalde is a member of the Cuban American Bar Association and the Florida Association of Women Lawyers. |
