Safety Matters

A Shared Commitment to a Safe University

The Department of Public Safety provides security information, assistance, and service to aid the campus community in identifying its vulnerability to crime and avoiding victimization through the following means:

  • Access to "non-public" areas is restricted to our students, faculty, staff, guests, and bona fide visitors as a primary method to enhance security.
  • The department is dependent on the campus community to report suspicious individuals or activities.
  • The department implements various safety and security procedures and crime awareness methods designed to anticipate, recognize, and appraise crime risks on campus, and to initiate appropriate action to reduce or remove such risks.
  • Crime prevention workshops and programs are offered to all University groups and organizations with two weeks advance notice. Call Public Safety at 305-284-1105 for information or to schedule a program.

Please remember: Public Safety strongly urges the prompt reporting of all criminal incidents.
