Police Dispatcher  - $14.28/hr (Position #006052)

The University of Miami Police Department is now accepting applications for full-time for the position of Police Dispatcher.  Employment includes:

Duties include receiving complaints by phone, providing travel instructions, directing citizens to campus areas, monitor radios and an alarm system, issue equipment, and coordinate joint activities between Coral Gables and UM Police with UM dispatch.  Responsible for monitoring TV security screens, monitoring radio communication, security telephones, etc, monitor security/parking radio traffic and dispatch units as required, handle phone contact with students and faculty to schedule escorts, provide campus information and directions, provide backup assistance for relief schedules at the dispatch desk.   Some mandatory overtime may be required.  REQUIREMENTS:  Applicants must possess high school diploma or equivalent, one year related work experience, knowledge of PC applications, clear voice diction, and superior communication skills.  APPLICANTS MUST SPEAK FLUENT ENGLISH.   Apply at www.miami.edu/careers
