The Frost Wind Ensemble Presents Florida Premiere of Christopher Rouse's "Wolf Rounds"
Coral Gables, FL (April 2, 2007) – The University of Miami's Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music will present the Florida premiere of Wolf Rounds by Pulitzer Prize winning composer Christopher Rouse performed by The Frost Wind Ensemble, Gary Green, Conductor, on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 8 PM. The evening’s program also includes Paul Hindemith’s Symphony in B flat and Andre Jolivet's Second Concerto for Trumpet, featuring Craig Morris as trumpet soloist. This performance follows the Frost Wind Ensemble’s world premiere of Wolf Rounds at Carnegie Hall in New York City on March 29th to a sold out house.
This event is free and open to the public and takes place at the Maurice Gusman Concert Hall, Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music, 1314 Miller Drive, University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus. Wolf Rounds was commissioned by the Abraham Frost Commission Series which supports the school’s ongoing commitment to the creation of new works by today’s prominent composers. Christopher Rouse is one of America’s most celebrated composers of contemporary orchestral music.
