The Frost School of Music and the Cleveland Orchestra to Present Educational Activities
JANUARY 16 – 26, 2007 AT UM’S CORAL GABLES CAMPUS
Coral Gables, FL – The Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music will partner with The Cleveland Orchestra in presenting master classes, seminars and special music performances during the orchestra’s inaugural two-week residency in Miami. These educational programs are an important part of both organizations’ commitment to nurture the development of the next generation of musicians. All events taking place at the Frost School of Music, located on the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus, are free and open to the public.
As part of this exciting new partnership with the Frost School of Music, Cleveland Orchestra musicians will conduct new-music reading sessions, which will afford Frost School of Music composition students the unique opportunity to hear their works played by some of the world’s most accomplished professional musicians.
The Frost School of Music’s Maurice Gusman Concert Hall is located at 1314 Miller Drive. The Victor Clarke Recital Hall in the L. Austin Weeks Center for Recording and Performance, Broby Hall, Fillmore Hall, Nancy Green Hall, Pick Music Building, and Volpe classrooms are located at 5501 San Amaro Drive.
