These alternative recipient mailboxes (one for each list) are all grouped under "DL" (without the quotes). You can see the breakdown of ListServ lists by clicking here.

In order to send emails more effectively ListServ creates distribution lists. These distribution lists are managed by the LISTSERV server. When sending a message to one of these lists, you will receive a confirmation message from "L-Soft list server at University of Miami (1.8e) [LISTSERV@LISTSERV.MIAMI.EDU]".  To learn more about LISTSERV, point your Web browser to http://www.miami.edu/listserv. For any additional questions, you may email Bob Syren at bsyren@miami.edu or Susana Bustamante at sbustamante@miami.edu

Once the email announcement is composed from within the authorized departmental mailbox, follow the steps below to address, send and respond to the appropriate list.

1.  Select the recipient/distribution list.

2.  Type the message.
Make sure the "To" button has a distribution list that appears with a hyperlink in it. After typing the message, select Send.

3.  After sending the email, you will receive the message from the ListServ, as displayed below, confirming the message was sent by you.

4.  Simply reply to the message received by typing "OK" (without quotes).

5.  This message window displays the confirmation you will  receive after responding "ok" to the  message in step 4.

6.  If you choose to respond to the message in STEP 3 by clicking on the link within the message window, you will receive the confirmation message in a web browser window shown in the display below:

7.  If you receive the following message instead of the confirmation message shown in STEP 3,  contact Cecil Roomes at (305) 284-3928, as this generally indicates that the mailbox you are using to send the message is not an authorized user of the desired distribution list.
