Prospective International Students

The University of Miami has four campuses: Coral Gables, Medical, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS), and South Campus. Orientation programs and housing are located on the main Coral Gables campus. The University of Miami Coral Gables Campus is located approximately five and a half miles or 15 minutes south of Miami International Airport (MIA). Be aware, though, that the time it takes to get to the University may vary depending on traffic conditions. Although most students arrive in Miami by plane, the city is also accessible by bus, train or automobile.

If arriving via Miami International Airport, we suggest that you take a taxi or the MIA Super Shuttle from the airport to campus or to a hotel. In case you need to rent a car, we recommend that you do so from your hotel or from campus. Taxi service will cost you approximately $25 and Super Shuttle services will cost you approximately $20. Super Shuttle representatives are located outside of all the baggage claim areas at the airport and can easily be identified by their bright yellow shirts with the company name "Super Shuttle" written on them in big, blue letters. An MIA "Sky Cap" will assist you with your luggage. It is customary to tip $1.00 per bag. MIA provides luggage carts for passenger usage inside the airport.
