Updating Microsoft Office

To update your Microsoft Office software use the following procedure:

 

Open your Internet browser and in the type the following URL in the Address Bar: http://office.microsoft.com.  You will then be brought to the Microsoft Office Tools on the Web page.  On this site you can access many features and add-ins for the Microsoft Office applications including templates, free clip art, etc. 

 

  • Click Product Updates to view the available updates for your version of Microsoft Office. 

 

 

Microsoft's Update web page will then scan your PC to determine which Office updates need to be installed.  Once the scan is complete, a listing of available updates will be displayed. 

 

  • Click in the check boxes to the left of the updates you would like to install, then click Start Installation.

 

 

After you begin the installation you will be brought to a confirmation screen that will list all of the updates that you selected to download.  If you would like to remove any of your selections, click in the check box to the left of the selection to clear it. 

 

  • To continue with the installation click Install Now.   

 

 

 

Before the download begins, you must read and accept Microsoft's End User License Agreement.  Read the text on the license agreement screen and click Accept.  

 

 

 

The updates will then download to your computer.  They will either install automatically or you might be prompted through some installation screens depending on the update that you selected to download.  Once the installation is complete you  may be prompted to restart your computer.  When the computer has successfully restarted your update is complete.
