The School of Architecture offers two different summer programs for high school students, one residential and the other daily. Typically held for three weeks, faculty and advanced architecture students offer courses of study designed to give high school students an introduction to the profession as well as to the university experience. Exploration in Architecture and Design: July 5-26, 2009
This residential studio course for outstanding high school students builds familiarity with design processes and the role of architects and designers in society. Students enrolled in Explorations receive three (3) college credits. Scholarships may be available for qualified students who require financial assistance.
Summer Studies in Architecture for High School Students: Dates TBA
This program introduces secondary students (Grades 9-12) to the field of environmental design through projects offered in architecture, landscape architecture, and planning. It serves to engage students in the design process of creative problem solving. The program consists of three consecutive one-week sessions meeting Monday through Friday from 9:30 am - noon.

Students in grades 5-12 will have the opportunity to experience music of all styles including jazz, classical, and rock. Each student participates in ensembles and master classes. A full-time music camp for students ages 7 - 18, the Young Musicians’ Camp offers a wide variety of programs, spanning guitar, piano, strings, wind, percussion, orchestra, jazz, voice and musical theater. MusicTime Camp is designed for children from birth through eight years of age and offers a full and varied music curriculum including singing, listening, ear training, movement, playing instruments, and musical notation. Keyboard Camp is for children ages 6-8. The focus of the curriculum is on keyboard with a variety of related musical activities, including singing, movement, drumming, dancing, and rhythmic and tonal patterning. These programs also integrate music and art activities that heighten the awareness of the natural environment.

Summer Theatre Academy is for young actors (grades 1-7 and 8-11). Participants receive experience in acting, improvisation, stage movement, play writing, music and dance in a small class size setting.
