Broadcast Journalism (6 Semester Credit Hours)

On The Air

Learn how to inform, educate, and entertain an audience on the small screen. Discover how to investigate newsworthy stories and then use technical elements to create a TV studio production. Get a real-world taste of what it takes to be successful in the field of cable broadcasting by writing, producing, editing, and anchoring a public service announcement.

In addition to cable media, jump into radio performance and production where you will learn what it takes to have a successful radio show.

Any and everything you wanted to know about the broadcasting world, you will learn during your experience as a Summer Scholar.

Whether you want to be a news journalist, editor, camera person or  disc jockey, this program will give you the tools to help make that dream a reality.


Possible Field Trips: Visits to local cable broadcasting and local radio stations
