- Ensure salary bands are regularly reviewed to ensure competitiveness
- Ensure market competitiveness while maintaining equity/fairness
- Provide career ladders to support professional growth and retention of talent
- Develop policies that reflect the desired workplace:
- Recognize changes in job responsibilities and/or skills of employee
- Facilitate movement through salary band
- Address atypical situations
- Support a culture of accountability and high performance
- Create a system that is easy to implement and communicate
- Transparency
- Provide for pay adjustments based upon performance through regular, fair, and meaningful performance evaluations
- Provide salary adjustments based upon demonstrated performance and contributions and fundability
- Administration of the plan is without regard to race, gender, ethnicity, religion, national origin, veteran status, sexual orientation or preference, disability, or age
