President Shalala visited North Miami Beach Senior High School student clinic
Kim Greene, executive director of the Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation, Rudy Crew, superintendent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, President Donna E. Shalala, and John G. Clarkson, M.D., senior vice president for medical affairs and dean of the Miller School of Medicine, visited North Miami Beach Senior High School on Monday to get a close-up look at the comprehensive services provided by the school's student clinic. The 1,700-square-foot clinic, along with four others in the North Miami Beach school feeder pattern, were established by the Miller School of Medicine through a $6.25 million grant from the Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation. The clinics, which comprise the School Health Initiative, provide the most basic health care, health promotion and disease prevention, and psychosocial services for at-risk children from kindergarten through high school.
