IGS – Interdisciplinary global studies

 

Interdisciplinary global studies is designed to introduce undergraduate and graduate students to the comprehensive nature of world affairs, and these courses are team taught by faculty and distinguished experts from the host country on economics, politics, culture, and special topics.

Address Latin America’s relations with the USA, LA, EU, church, and global civil society. Begin your studies in Miami and continue them on site in Buenos Aires. This course features presentations by faculty from the
prestigious Universidad de Belgrano. Additional speakers include Argentinean diplomats and other Latin American experts. Lecture locations include Universidad de Belgrano, the Argentine Council for International Affairs and the National Congress. Lectures and presentations are in English and Spanish. Address China’s story of trade, investment, and growth (1979-2008). Begin your studies in Miami and continue in Wuhan, China. Gain an understanding of how China regained world leadership through a dynamic, open
economy and its economic reforms. The key ingredients of the success story are the opening of the economy to trade and investment and the orderly transition to the free market economy. Lectures are in English at Zhongnan

Russia in the World: Summer Course in St. Petersburg, Russia

St. Petersburg State University School of International Relations as well as other Russian experts and diplomats. Lecture locations include the Mariinskyi Palace which houses the legislative assembly and the St. Petersburg

Address Africa’s relations with the USA. Focus on Africa’s social, political, economic, and cultural issues. Begin your studies in Miami and continue them on site in Ghana. This course features presentations by faculty from
the prestigious University of Ghana (Legon) as well as excursions to the picturesque forts and castles that dot Ghana’s coastline, the Asantehene's Palace at Manhyia, Kumasi, the centre for Kente weaving at Bonwire, and
