The University of Miami License Plate

In the sea of standard Florida license plates, yours can be the one that turns heads. Make the right impression with a UM License Plate.

After an amazing 24-year run, UM's beloved mascot, Sebastian the Ibis, has retired from his duties on the UM license plate. A new plate featuring the now iconic split-U was chosen by alumni in an online contest and is now available at over 150 Florida tag agencies or online at GoRenew.com. The new Florida plate costs just $25 more per year than a standard state tag for vehicles registered in Florida*. The best part is that the extra $25 generated from each U tag sale will be directed towards University of Miami student scholarships.

Over its lifespan, UM's custom tag has racked up nearly 80,000 sales, raising nearly $2 million for the scholarship fund. The split orange and green U, which was once the domain solely of athletics, has evolved into one of the most recognizable institutional symbols in the world. Now it's time to put it on the road wherever 'Cane-loving Florida motorists go. Get the new U plate!

Go ahead and let your tag tell the world you're a 'Cane!
