The University of Miami License Plate
In the sea of standard license plates, yours can be the one that turns heads. Make the right impression with a UM License Plate — now available in Florida and Maryland. A campaign is also under way to bring the specialty plate to Georgia.
It's Time to Pride Your Ride!
After an amazing 24-year run, UM's beloved mascot, Sebastian the Ibis, has retired from his duties on the UM license plate. The new UM Florida specialty plate costs $25 more per year, in addition to registration fees.
Why get the U plate? It's a great way to show your pride for UM and also give back. Each purchase helps support student scholarships. Over its lifespan, UM's custom tag has generated about 80,000 sales, raising nearly $2 million for scholarships.
How do I get started? To obtain the U plate, visit your local Department of Motor Vehicles office. Plates may be personalized with up to five characters.
