2009 Young Alumni Giving Rally
(Classes of 1998-2008)

ABOUT THE RALLY – JOIN US!
The Young Alumni Rally is a fun, simple way to get involved in supporting your alma mater. During the months of March, April and May, young alumni take part in a mini-campaign drive to reconnect with friends in support of the Annual Fund.
YOUNG ALUMNI – YOU CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE
Young alumni are the future of our institution. Every gift
counts – no matter the size - to help our students, and to build a better
University. UM alumni have a strong tradition of giving back. We
are the future leaders of UM.
| HOW TO PARTICIPATE! | |
| The Young Alumni Giving Rally has a group of 50 (and counting) former student leaders and volunteers. Our goal is to grow this network to 500 Rally participants. It’s simple to be a part of the Rally: | |
| 1. | Step up and agree to participate. If you have not already done so this fiscal year (June 1, 2008-May 31, 2009), make a gift of any size to the University to support the school/college or program that means most to you (see How to Give below). |
| 2. | Tap in to your network: Tweet, Text, Email, Phone, or use your online social networks to recruit at least one classmate (your “Recruit”) to join the Rally and make a gift. This part is easy. |
Step Up and Be Recognized
Rally participants with gifts received by the University before May 31 will be
recognized on the University’s website, weekly postings, and invited to an
invitation-only Young Alumni Social in Miami to kick-off the summer, hosted
by the UMAA. You won’t want to miss it!
Young alumni who make a donation of $15 or more will also receive a GO GREEN “U” reusable shopping tote to proudly display UM pride, spread the word about UM, and show concern for the environment.
| Valuable benefits of giving back: | |
| 1. | Every gift adds up. Do the math: If 1/3 of our young alumni base gave up just $10 to support the “U”, that alone would fund annual tuition for 4 students. |
| 2. | Not convinced? The Rally is also a fun way to reconnect with classmates and network. |
| 3. | Increase the value of your degree - Alumni support is used by ranking organizations as an indicator of alumni loyalty. The 2009 U.S. News & World Report’s ranked us #51, up 15 spots in the last six years. Rankings, paired with the quality of our student body, faculty, and research means your degree is more valuable. |
