Annual Fund, Alumni Programs Greet New Faces

Cornelius “Neil” Hayes has been named the new assistant director for the Annual Fund.  He will be responsible for the Calling ‘Canes Telemarketing Program and the Senior Class Gift Program.

Neil graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.  As a student, Neil worked for the University Development Annual Giving Program as a supervisor for the telemarketing program.  He was responsible for recruiting, hiring and training more than 100 student callers.  In addition, Neil planned and implemented nightly motivational strategies while making sure telemarketing goals were met.

Prior to joining the Annual Fund staff, Neil was a top salesperson at Immke Honda in Dublin, Ohio.  As a sales and leasing consultant, Neil earned the Council of Sales Leadership Silver Award as well as the American Honda Corporation Award for superior customer service skills.


Kari Kietzer will be joining the Alumni Relations Department as Assistant Director of Alumni Programs (National Outreach).  Kari’s experience includes her most recent assignment as Assistant Director of Annual Giving for Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia where she was an instrumental member of the development team, helping to raise over $2.3 million annually. 

Kari gained extensive experience working with volunteer committees and engaging community support through a past position as a Legislative Correspondent for U.S. Congressman Fred Upton in Washington, DC from 1998 - 2001.  The knowledge and skills she has gained throughout her career will serve her well as she works with our national outreach team.  Kari received her Bachelors of Arts in Public Relations in 1999 from Western Michigan University.
