New Hillel President to Visit Alma Mater
University of Miami alumnus Wayne L. Firestone, A.B. '86, was selected to lead a new generation of leadership as the international president of Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, and will be returning to UM to share his experiences with students and alumni.
"I am honored by this vote of confidence," said Firestone, who has been involved with Hillel since his undergraduate days at UM. "I look forward to working with our lay leadership, our talented professional staff, our student leadership and our community partners to fulfill our vision: to inspire every Jewish student to make an enduring committment to Jewish life."
An attorney by training, Firestone most recently served as executive vice president for the United States and also served on Hillel's Strategic Planning committee. He graduated from Georgetown Law School and received cum laude honors in Judaic Studies and Politics and Public Affairs at the University of Miami.
