Leading a New Era of Academic Excellence
The University of Miami Alumni Association cordially invites all alumni to a reception and program, "Leading a New Era of Academic Excellence" featuring Thomas J. LeBlanc, Ph.D., Executive Vice President and Provost.
The reception is a part of a University of Miami Alumni Association Initiative linking alumni, parents and friends across the country with University leaders. These gatherings offer an insider's view of the dynamic programs and personalities that are propelling the University of Miami into the top tier of academic research institutions.
Appointed in 2005, Thomas J. LeBlanc is the University of Miami's Executive Vice President and Provost. As the chief academic offer of the University, Dr. LeBlanc oversees faculty and students in 12 schools and colleges, as well as the research and educational programs of the University. Prior to joining UM, Dr. LeBlanc was Vice Provost and Robert L. and Mary L. Sproull Dean of the Faculty at the University of Rochester. He is a distinguished scholar in computer science and a highly regarded academic leader and administrator.
Dr. LeBlanc is leading a University-wide strategic planning effort aimed at strengthening the academic experience, improving the University's standing in key rankings, and increasing the endowment. He'll share his vision for the institution's dynamic future and discuss how the University will accomplish its ambitious goals.
