Explore the Lowe Art Museum
Designated as a “Major Cultural Institution” by the State of Florida, UM’s very on art collection at the Lowe is one of the most important in the southeast, with strengths in Renaissance and Baroque, American, Ancient and Native American, and Asian art. Make plans to visit the Lowe while on-campus to see the permanent collection as well as a special exhibit titled: “Material Terrain: A Sculptural Exploration of Landscape and Place.” The exhibit will provide an imaginative, thought-provoking exploration of the relationship between the natural and constructed world.

Campus Walking Tours

Are you curious about how much the university has changed over the years? Take a walk around campus and reminisce about your days as a student during the Coral Gables campus walking tour. Tours will take place at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. and will depart from the BankUnited Center 15 minutes prior.

Tour of the John C. Gifford Arboretum
Event Cost: Complimentary
John Cozza, Special Assistant for the Arboretum, will lead two special tours of the Arboretum which features hundreds of native trees and plants and serves as a restful oasis on campus. Students, professors and Coral Gables neighbors frequently use the arboretum for teaching, research and recreation. The arboretum was named to honor John. C. Gifford, the first graduate forester in the U.S. and a former professor of tropical forestry at the University. Nearby is a new collection of rare and exotic palms, called the Palmetum. Tours will take place at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and will depart from the BankUnited Center 15 minutes prior.
