UM Alumni Association Homecoming Pregame Celebration

UM vs. UNC

With more than 200 guests in attendance, the UM Alumni Association Homecoming Pregame Celebration was a great success! The event was fun and as always a true ’Cane spirited gathering, kicking off the Homecoming game.

Guests enjoyed reminiscing and reconnecting with friends, fabulous food and a spirited pep rally along with the Cheerleaders, Band of the Hour, Sebastian, and remarks and presentations from several special guests: 2014 Grand Marshal Jim Kelly, President Shalala, Honorary Alumna ’02; Director of UM Athletics Blake James, Vice President of the Alumni Association, Frank Jimenez, B.S. ’87.

The Hurricanes football team capped off Alumni Weekend & Homecoming by pounding the North Carolina Tar Heels 47-20.

Duke Johnson continued his assault on the UM record books, running for 177 yards to surpass Edgerrin James for second on the Hurricanes' all-time rushing list, as Miami routed the North Carolina Tar Heels 47-20 on Saturday at Sun Life Stadium. The Hurricanes paid homage to their past, enshrining Russell Maryland and Jerome Brown in the team's Ring of Honor and honoring Jim Kelly as the headline attraction of homecoming weekend.
